Cleaning the temple 10/14
Tom and I slept in until almost 7am! Unheard of! Actually I woke up at about 5am but since he was so sound asleep, I held still and dozed off and on until he woke up; It just felt so good to be cuddled up in bed.
We
wanted to go to the gym before he went to pickleball, so I grabbed a quick
shower and we went, taking both cars. It felt good to push those muscles. Then
Tom went straight to pickleball and I went back home to get my morning routine
done.
We
had some stale homemade bread that I decided to make French toast out of for breakfast,
then prepared some for Tom when he got home. Then we had about 20 minutes to
grab a power nap before heading to the temple to clean.
I was so grateful that the 4 sister missionaries in our ward came to help, because without them, there would have been only 4 of us. the temple is closed for 2 weeks for deep cleaning, so our assignments were very different this time. Tom and I polished wood, which included all end tables, desks, stools, and the framework of all the chairs, etc., etc. We had to skip all the chairs in both sealing rooms because other work is being done there so all the chairs were stacked up tightly in the middle of the room. It took us more than an hour to do it all over the temple. Dr. Jones was to dust all the silk flowers and trees, the missionaries cleaned all the painted wood trim around all the doors, someone cleaned light fixtures, etc. Such fun stuff. But it is always wonderful being in the temple!
We
went back home and Tom spent the rest of the day working Synergy, then after
mobile home offices closed, he worked in the yard. I did all my various normal
house stuff,
At
night we watched an old episode of Jeopardy where Ken Jennings was the contestant, then
another old episode of Tracker because we can’t get paramount + to play the new
shows.
