At Trina's house 9/6

As soon as we saw Trina in the morning i asked how it went with Trevor in the emergency room. She said he has a hairline fracture on the front of his elbow and applied a splint with instructions to go to his regular doctor on Monday to get it assessed more and treatment completed..

She had to leave for work at the same time that Ziona needed taken to the place where her little concert was so I took Ziona and dropped her off, then went to find Tom.

Tom had left before finishing breakfast to play pickleball across the street at the courts at the library, so after I dropped Ziona off, i went there to see if he wanted to go see Ziona play, which he did. He just happened to be finishing up when I got there.

At the elementary school we found a place to sit in the shade. we were more than half hour early but I really wanted to be sure to find a place in the shade. it was too hot in the sun!

Ziona played the glockenspiel, the shaker and the snare drum and in one song she actually had a 11 measure snare solo! She's only been playing them for a few weeks, but since she already knew how to read music and knows the notes on the keyboard, she can identify them on the glockenspiel, but I'm still impressed.




They played for 20 minutes but only had 10 minutes of music, so they played each song twice. since people were coming and going, that didn't matter at all.

after the concert, Ziona had to help put stuff  like the chairs and music stands away, then we went to look at some old cars that Tom couldn't bear to not go spend a lot of time looking at them.

Anyway, back at their house, we watched K-Pop Demon Slayers before Trina got home from work. the songs are very popular now and I had never heard of them, so they felt we needed educated in pop culture. Trina wanted me to have the songs stuck in my head like they do.

We spent the rest of the evening hanging out and just enjoyed each others' company without accomplishing much. Tom did manage to fix their back door so it can open, and unplugged the hose on the vacuum, which both things made them really happy.

Another day of fun 12/30

Tom developed a lump in his upper arm. He felt it in his shoulder yesterday, then today it was a huge lump in the bicep and made him look really buffed, but was quite painful and he was worried. I tried massaging it some, very lightly, with some essential oils. I’m not sure it helped any, but I couldn’t think of anything else. He finally called the doctor who said to put a cold compress on it and take ibuprofen and the doctor will call back in the morning. They will try to avoid having him go in unless absolutely necessary. Our morning was really quiet while Trina and Chris took care of stuff involving the computers and stuff at home. Tom worked outside as much as he could until his arm hurt too much to hold a hammer. About lunch time, we began making enchiladas. It is quite a process. May 21st was a fun family day

Tom had a stake priesthood meeting at 7am, so we went in separate cars. I went to the church to practice before the meeting started. The Pettus’ decided to go to Tanya’s ward, which starts in the afternoon. After my Sacrament meeting, I went to visit another ward’s Relief Society as a Stake visitor, and then joined Knudsens and Pettus’ in Tanya’s ward. It was fun to be there with my daughters! There was a linger-longer after church which I skipped because by then I was starving and they didn’t have anything I wanted to eat. Tom was home already and had made dinner. After everyone got there and had eaten, Trina, Tanya, Chris and I went to look at a few houses while Tom went to a baptism.  When we got back we got to play cards until everyone had to go home. Tom got home just before they all left. It sure was fun to have some of my kids and their families here!

Organizing 4/9

  I have had a pain in my left ribs since Sunday. Luckily I slept well because it doesn’t hurt when I’m lying or sitting down. The rest of the day I just rested whenever it hurt to bad to continue standing. Our morning routine now includes studying the scriptures together then studying Portuguese. I have to say, compared to Spanish, it’s really hard! We are using Babel and I’m not enjoying it much. There was a community meeting with our assemblyman that Tom went to in the morning. He likes being involved in those things, but I prefer not to, especially if there is controversy. He was gone a couple of hours and brought me home a donut from the meeting. One of my goals for today was to organize the shelves better where all my craft and painting stuff is, and the other things on those shelves in the garage. I never could get to the boxes I wanted.
