9/4 Helping Tanya
I woke up at 4am. ☹
Tanya has a lot of projects that she likes my help with. I
love that she wants me to be with her - mostly I watch, assist, and cheer her
on. Sometimes I make good suggestions that she appreciates. But it does seem
silly that her boys are sitting around playing games on phones or computers
while we are so busy. We could sure use their help, in my opinion.
I coulda swore I already wrote this and posted it, but I don’t
see it, so I’m doing it again.
I left for Tanya’s at 9am. Tom was going to do some yard
work, then go to help the dangerously unbalanced woman at Christian’s house.
She has a ton of boxes that need put in storage. Tom wants them out of the
living room.
But at the same time we are looking for a place for her to
rent and we found one that we could go see at 5pm. He didn’t want to make 2
trips to Madera, so he postponed moving boxes for next week.
I helped Tanya with several jobs and she was glad for what
we got done. I got home about noon and found him still doing yard work.
My first priority was a nap, then lunch.
I was scheduled to do a ministering visit at 6pm, so Tom was
going to have to take the dangerously unbalanced woman to see the room for rent
by himself. But the person at the house with the room for rent texted Tom that
he could go at 3pm, so suddenly I could go with him. We left immediately, went
to pick up Susan, then headed to Clovis. It is very long way and our house is
almost in the middle of the two places.
The house we took her to see is beautiful – brand new and so
clean and pretty. I wanted to move in. We didn’t stay very long because I had
to get back in time to do ministering. Tom dropped me off at home, then took
Susan to her house.
I only had about 20 minutes before my ministering companion
picked me up. We picked up one other sister, then went to Menchies for ice
cream. We had a wonderful visit there. For some reason it is easier to carry on
casual conversation in an ice cream shop than sitting in the living room of
someone’s house. It seems less formal. It was fun and we decided to do it every
month and invite other people to join.
I got home about 7:30. Tom was packed and ready to leave for
pickleball at 8pm. Whie he was gone, I was just so sleepy I couldn’t stay
awake. I tried to watch some things but kept falling asleep. I had to wake up
when he got home at 10:40pm so we could pray and go to bed.
It was a long day but we sure got a lot done!
