So many miles driven 9/3

Tom was already awake and on the couch when I woke up at 4. We discussed what we need to do today, and it’s a lot!

First I went over to Tanya’s to help her with her list of projects at 9am. We were able to mostly complete 3 of them, but she keeps adding things because stuff always comes up. Like she needs to put Cannon’s suitcases away that he used on his mission, but to do that, she needs to organize the garage better. Garage organizing is already on the list, but not until October. There’s no way we can be in the garage in the summer. Of course, she can’t wait until October to put Cannon’s suitcases away.

We were going to switch out the light fixtures in the boys’ rooms, but when I opened the light fixture, it was the wrong kind. She was sad and frustrated about that, but that project has to be postponed until she buys the right fixtures.

Our main project for today was finishing her board and batten project in her bathroom. I’m not sure what the main purpose of that décor idea is, but she is really happy about it. We did as much as we could, which took a couple of hours. Now it needs Tom to screw in 4 of the boards, then she has to sand, spackle and paint. So she couldn’t really cross that one off yet.

I got back home around noon. Since I had been awake for 8 hours already, I had to have a nap, but Tom was too busy with Synergy phone calls and texts to join me. Eventually he did and we got caught up on sleep.

He had arranged to go to Christian’s house at 10am today to help the dangerously unbalanced renter put a whole lot of boxes into her storage unit, but then he found a possible rental that he needed to take her to see at 5, so he decided to combine those trips.

Long story shorter, I went with him at 3 to pick her up and take her to see the rental. It was on the far east side of Clovis, so it took a good 45 minutes to get there, plus she had to stop at a bank to get cash for the rent and deposit in case she was accepted.

The house with the room to rent was SO BEAUTIFUL! Brand new, spacious, and so clean. I wanted to move in! We talked a lot but at the end it looked like she probably won’t qualify for that one.

I had an appointment to do a ministering visit at 6, so Tom dropped me off before driving Susan back to Madera. We have spent so much gas and time trying to help her find a place. I don’t know what she is going to do because she doesn’t qualify for any rental.

Tom dropped me off at home, then took Susan the rest of the way to Madera. That's a 90 mile round trip!

I got home about half hour before my ministering companion picked me up. We were visiting Lori who only lives a couple of blocks from me and we had decided to go out to ice cream to visit. There is a Menchies near our houses, so we went there.  Menchies

The ice cream is good and we were able to just sit there and visit. It was a good chance to relax and get to know each other better. We decided to do it monthly and invite others to join us.

Tom got home from Madera just before I got there and was outside watering the yard.

Then Tom went to play pickleball at 8pm. Now he has Cannon going, too, so that’s good. Cannon needs more things to do and something fun in his life. While they were gone, I relaxed and was falling asleep at 9:30pm. I was mostly asleep when he finally got home at 10:40pm and we went to bed.

It was sure a busy day!
