Going to the temple times 2 – 9/15


 The ides of September are upon us.

This month is half over! The end of the year is coming fast. I’m ready to put up the Christmas tree.

We woke up a little before Tom’s alarm went off. I got on the computer for a little while before taking a shower.

I had texted Ryan that I hadn’t heard from him for a little while, and he responded right away saying he would call as soon as he got some coffee. I jumped in the shower, then was waiting for his call when Anne texted that she was ready to chat. Happy days!

So we got on and had a good visit. I definitely look forward to Tuesday mornings for that reason!

Ryan did call later when we were on our way to the temple and we had a good visit.

After work, Tom went to Tanya’s rental and worked there until just in time to come home and get ready to go to the temple.

I worked on various things through the day including a sofa caddy. It holds all the things that we keep on the ottoman, so now our ottoman can be clear instead of cluttered. Maybe I’ll make some more because it was fun.

When Tom got home he showered quickly while I fixed him some dinner. The dinner was barely ready when it was past time to leave so he ate on the way. We were blessed to hit green lights so we made it to the temple in time. What a blessing!

It was wonderful as always being in the temple. We love it there. I’m so grateful for a husband who loves to go as much or more than I do.

Any day I can sew all day is a great day.

The recital 10/8

We had scheduled to help clean the Church this morning, and planned to go get Tom’s Prague watercolor painting framed after that. But last night our darling little 6-year-old neighbor came over to give us a hand-written and colored in crayon invitation and a “ticket” for their recital this morning at 9am. The ticket was on a piece of paper that had been torn off. So cute! We definitely could not miss this! There are 2 kids, maybe 6 and 8 or so. The girl was going to play the piano, and the boy was going to sing – The Muffin Man. They had also invited our neighbors who are about our age. Blatant Blessings 2

This month someone stole our extension ladder. Ok, it was in the back yard, fully visible, but it is the first time anything has been stolen from our yard. I guess we'll have to start putting things away. A while back my favorite camera died. I looked into getting it fixed, but it was over 3 years old, so I doubt it is worth it. Tom bought me a new camera for Christmas, but he bought me the camera he always wanted, and now he's carrying it with him for work. The ride-on lawnmower died. Tom looked at it and took it apart and found it needed a new pully. We've started having problems with the internet losing connection over and over. I finally gave up and called AT&T (a thing I try to avoid at all costs) and they told me I need a new modem. Mine was over a year old and suddenly became defective. You can't just go buy one either, you have to order it and wait for it to come in the mail. More money means it comes sooner; less money means you wait longer with unreliable ...

Tom’s Garden 6/12

Tom doesn’t just like maintaining the yard – what he loves is creating lovely areas. He has worked for weeks on the area along the back of the house going to the garage. Today he finished getting sprinklers to all the pots. It’s really pretty along there now, except for all the junk on the other side of the sidewalk, but we won’t talk about that. He loves to have his vegetable garden, and likes putting flowers among the vegetables. He hopes to have lots of string beans, beets, cabbage, tomatoes, and cantaloupe this summer.         Tanya came over after her massage and we showed her Enola that we watched last night. It was just as good the 2 nd time and fun to watch with Tanya, who enjoyed all the funny parts, too.   We installed the new kitchen lights that we bought on Thursday. We replaced the ceiling fan first and had nothing but problems with it. The box that the fixture connects to was loose in the ceiling and we tried 4 or 5 different things...
